BOORSE WINS FIREHOUSE NATIONALS OPENING NIGHT

SUN PRAIRIE, WI (July 7)----Dan Boorse used a late race pass to score an exciting victory in the opening night of the 'Prairie Firehouse Nationals, presented by Sun Prairie Sand & Gravel at Angell Park Speedway. The 25-lap feature was run non-stop, and sanctioned by the Badger, NAMARS, and MARA Midget Series.
Kevin Doty edged polesitter Roger Miller, at the line to lead the opening circuit, while Boorse quickly began working his way through the field from his twelfth place starting position. Boorse moved into fifth on the fourth lap, while Doty held Miller off two car lengths. With tens laps down Doty, Miller, Kevin Olson, and Boorse were separated by one second. Boorse moved around Olson on the 12th lap for third, and four laps later passed Miller for second. Boorse ran on Doty's bumper for the next few laps, and passed Doty for the lead as the pair exited turn two on the nineteenth lap. Boorse then stretched his lead over Doty at the finish to win by 2.16 seconds. Doty, Miller, Olson, and Jerry Coons rounded out the top five. Twenty of the starting field of twenty two cars finished the event. The win extended Boorse's point lead in Badger, and gave him the point lead in the FireHouse Nationals.
Aaron Fike topped the 54 car field in qualifying, and Boorse won the 6-lap Champions Dash. Bryan Billings, and Quinn McCabe escaped injury in separate flips earlier in the night, and Marc DeBeaumont was okay after a flip at the start of the feature.
A complete show highlighted by a 50-lap feature, along with the Rookies Dash is set for Saturday Night.
