WESTFALL SCORES EXCITING 'PRAIRIE BADGER MIDGET WIN
SUN PRAIRIE, WI, July 8---Matt Westfall scored an exciting victory in the 25-lap Badger Midget Series Feature, Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway. For the 1998 NAMARS Champion, it was his first career victory at the facility, and second overall in his career.
 Westfall jumped into the lead at the start of the event, which saw the events only caution appear on the second lap for a stalled car. On the restart Westfall assumed the lead, while Davey Ray, and Dan Boorse moved into second, and third positions. The trio pulled away from the field, with Westfall maintaining a two car length lead over Ray. The leaders began lapping the back of the field on the twelfth lap, and Ray and Boorse closed to Westfall's bumper. One lap later Ray Ray slid under Westfall as the pair exited turn four to take the lead.
 With an extremely tricky cushion, the three ran on each other with around three to four car lengths being the margin between first and third. The leaders approached a group of eight cars running tightly on the 18th lap, two laps later Westfall regained the lead from Ray, exiting turn two.
 Westfall held the advantage by a car length over Ray, with Boorse two car lengths further back in third as they received the white lap. Ray gave it a great last lap effort, and attempted to slid under Westfall for the win as they entered the fourth turn, with Ray getting his car sideways, and spinning. Westfall scored the victory with Boorse taking second. Kevin Doty, Randy Fiscus, and Brandon Waelti rounded out the top five. Ray finished eighth, as only seven cars finished on the lead lap, with eighteen starters finishing the event.
 Boorse maintains a 160 point lead over Ray heading into the next series event Sunday Night July 15, at the facility.
