AARON FIKE DOMINATES BADGER MIDGET OPENER

BEAVER DAM, WI, May 4----Aaron Fike dominated opening night for the Badger Midget Series, winning the 25-lap feature at The Raceway at PowerCom Park.
Fike started off the evening lowering the track record to 14.519 seconds erasing Travis Miniea's old mark.
Teddy Beach jumped into the lead at the start, while Fike quickly moved from eighth to fourth by the third lap. One lap later Fike was in third place trailing Beach, and Davey Ray, with Tracy Hines right behind Fike. On the restart after a spun car was cleared, the lead four drivers began to pull away from the field. Fike took over second on the seventh lap, and began pressuring Beach for the lead, gaining the top spot on the 11th lap exiting turn two.
Fike began increasing his lead each lap, and began to lap the tail of the field with ten laps remaining. The final five laps saw Fike in heavy lapped traffic. Fike who drove the Les & Greg Nelson/Lamers-Tim Sullivan/ Stealth-Gaerte#95 finished 2.78 seconds ahead of Tracy Hines, Ray, Beach, and A.J. Fike. Twenty of the twenty two car starting field finished the event.
Sixteen year old Ryan Durst scored a thrilling trophy dash win in his first ever Badger event, while Mike Hess broke Dan Boorse's four year old ten-lap record winning the heat race.
The next Badger event will be the 50-lap opener at Angell Park Speedway(Sun Prairie, WI), on May 19.
