DeSELLE SCORES WIRE TO WIRE WIN IN BADGER MIDGET OPENER

FRANKLIN, WI----Chad DeSelle won the Badger Midget Series season opener, Friday Night at the Hales Corners Speedway. The event kicked off the 67th year of sanctioning midget auto racing by the association. DeSelle became the eighteenth different feature winner in twenty one events dating back to 1990 at the facility.
DeSelle who was filling in for Cory Kruseman, drove the Harlan Kittleson Kunz-Mopar#2 entry, leading all thirty laps. DeSelle jumped into the lead, from the pole, and along with Mike Hess the pair quickly moved away from the field. With multi-groove racing occuring the pair lengthened their lead as they began lapping the tail of the field with ten laps remaining. DeSelle was never challenged during the final portion of the event and finished 2.24 seconds ahead of Hess. Nick Lundgreen, trophy dash winner Steve Buckwalter, and fast qualifier Davey Ray rounded out the top five. DeSelle broke Jay Drake's thrity lap track record by more than three minutes, and thirty seconds. Brad Kuhn escaped injury in a flip which occurred as the leaders were taking the checkered flag, dropping Kuhn from third to fifteenth place, Kuhn was the only feature starter who failed to finish the event.
