Stratton tops Badger Midgets at Antigo 
By Bryan Gapinski Antigo, Wis., July 7---Danny Stratton turned in a dominating performance Saturday Night capturing the 27-lap Mole Lake Casino/Lodge Lucky 7 Badger Midget Challenge for the Badger Midget Series at Langlade County Speedway. The event marked the first ever midget auto race in the facilities 45-year history.
Nick Lundgreen led the first two laps of the feature, before Davey Ray took the lead, with Stratton advancing four positions to sixth place. With Ray leading Stratton continued his charge moving to fourth place on the sixth lap and into second place, three laps later. At lap ten Ray held a 1.6 advantage over Stratton as the top five cars broke away from the field on a very fast race surface.
Stratton narrowed Ray's lead each lap and closed to his rear bumper on the 14th lap, before taking the lead on the next lap around the 1/2-mile dirt track. One lap later, the event was stopped when third place running Matt Smith hit the wall and flipped in turn 3. A minor delay took place for fence repairs.
On the restart Stratton assumed the lead, however the race pace was slowed by for two cautions during the next four laps for stalled cars. Stratton, the evening's fastest qualifier driving the Hans Lein owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger executed perfect restarts both times and cruised unchallenged over the final seven laps finishing 1.72 seconds ahead of three-time series champion Scott Hatton, Ray, Brandon Waelti, and New Zealand's Brad Mosen.

*Smith flipped on lap 16 of feature, uninjured.
