Clauson flawless in USAC/Badger at Angell Park

Sun Prairie, Wis., July 8---Bryan Clauson won the 30-lap USAC Mopar National Midget and Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series co-sanctioned feature, Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway.
Caleb Armstrong jumped into the lead at the start followed by Clauson and Brad Kuhn. Armstrong began lapping slower cars on the eighth lap, four laps later Armstrong jumped the cushion exiting Turn 4 giving Clauson the lead. One lap later Armstrong spun, and retired from the event. On the restart Clauson pulled away from the field with a great battle for the runner-up position between Kuhn and fast qualifier Tracy Hines. Badger point leader Bubba Altig stalled on Lap 27, setting up a three-lap shoot out.
On the restart Clauson driving the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian owned Bullet-Toyota No. 71 easily pulled away from Kuhn, finishing 0.928 seconds ahead of Kuhn, Hines, USAC National Midget point leader Darren Hagen and Zach Daum. Altig holds 34-point lead over Danny Stratton heading into the 6th annual "Salute to Harry Turner" on July 14 at Wilmot (Wis.) Raceway. Jason Tetrault took the lead on the opening lap and won the 15-lap Badger 600 Micro Series feature, finishing two car lengths ahead of Brandon Fickas, Preston Benisch, Scott Crawford and Chad Bogar.

*Blackhurst flipped on opening lap of Heat Race One, Scott Hatton flipped on opening lap of Heat Race One, landing outside of track in Turn 3, both drivers escaping injury.
