Hatton increases point lead with Angell Park Win

Scott HattonBy Bryan Gapinski Sun Prairie, Wis., May 31---Three-time series champion Scott Hatton increased his points lead by capturing the 25-lap Badger Midget Series feature Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway.
Hatton quickly moved from the third row to second position on the opening lap. One lap later Hatton passed Bob Schreffler for the lead. Matt Smith was involved in a multi-car accident on lap 5, causing him to flip. Smith escaped injury. Hatton again pulled away easily from the field on the restart. Hatton began lapping slower cars at the midway point, leading Chad DeSelle, and Mike Hess.
Hatton continued posting fast laps, when fourth place Zach Daum spun, forcing a caution, with three laps remaining. Hatton executed a perfect restart, and cruised unchallenged to victory driving the Huston Solution Stealth/Mopar No. 15. DeSelle placed second, followed by defending series champion Hess, Brad Kuhn, and Aaron Fiscus. Australia's Mark Brown escaped injury during qualifying, after hitting the frontstretch wall, and flipping several times.Hatton holds a 69-point advantage over Hess heading into the next series event on June 7 at Angell Park Speedway.
