Badger Midgets Get Busy As They Close Out August
The Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Auto Racing Association has a busy August ahead starting with a doubleheader weekend. The historic club will race five times to close out August.
This weekend, Saturday, August 16, starts the march with a co-sanctioned event at Sycamore Speedway where Badger will meet their southern cousins the Midget Auto Racing Association (MARA). Badger teams will then head home for the famed Cornfest race at Angell Park Speedway on Sunday, August 17.
The following Saturday they'll race at Wilmot Raceway and Badger will close out August with another doubleheader at Sycamore and Angell Park.
That won't end the season though as there will still be a make up race to be run at Angell Park when the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Badger share the card on October 19.
POINTS
With Kyle Stark retiring from the midget ranks and a recent Facebook post putting the rest of Brandon Waelti's 2025 season in question there will be a lot of people jockeying for position to close out the season. While Parker Jones has a commanding lead in the Badger standings, he has not mathematically clinched his second title. Derek Doerr is currently in second place followed by Luke Wackerlin.
Earning a coveted spot in the top-ten for 2025 Badger points will likely come down to that fall weekend at Angell Park.
THIS WEEKEND
Here are some particulars for this coming weekend. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Cornfest race as this is Sun Prairie's version of a county fair.
Teams are reminded that Sunday is also "Backpack Night" at Angell Park.
