Fireworks Will Fly Sunday With AFS Badger Midget Go At Angell Park Speedway
This Sunday, June 28, the Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Auto Racing Association is back in action at the track they made famous, Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
The weekend will feature one of the many traditions Angell Park brings to the racing community and the city it calls home, as the speedway will celebrate our country's birthday with a spectacular fireworks display. Year in and year out Angell Park has held this special celebration of the holiday at no cost to the tax payers, albeit a few days early.
This event offers adult tickets at just $18 and a family plan for $40. Please see Angell Park Speedway's sites for official details and the complete pricing breakdown. Along with the AFS Badger Midget Series, the Midwest Legends Dirt Series and wingLESS Sprint Cars will be on hand.
Badger is about a third of a way through their 2026 season and Sun Prairie's Brandon Waelti leads in the point standings coming into Angell Park. Two teenagers Luke Wackerlin and Miles Doherty from Illinois and Iowa respectively occupy the next two spots while veteran RJ Corson follows them in fourth. Sun Prairie's Eric Blumer rounds out the top-five.
Veterans Zach Boden of Cambridge and Brian Peterson from Mukwonago are next in the standings. Sun Prairie drivers Nick Kilian and Cody Weisensel are eight and ninth while Harrison Kleven from Marshall completes the top-ten.
Waelti and Corson have each won a race this season while Kilian comes into Sunday's event fresh off his career-best second place finish in a Lyco Manufacturing A-Main. Blumer has finished fourth in the last two races which were his best runs. Weisensel has had some struggles this season and is still looking for his first victory as the longest tenured driver on the circuit without a feature win.
The spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps/qualifying scheduled for 5 p.m. It promises to be a great night of racing with fireworks to boot. Make plans now to attend!
