“Waelti wins Badger return to LaSalle Speedway”

LaSalle, IL August 27---Series points Brandon Waelti won the 25-lap “Bill Waite Jr. Memorial”, Mid-State Equipment/Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series feature, Saturday Night at LaSalle Speedway.
Polesitter Aaron Schuck led the initial seven laps in Badger’s first event at the track, in over nineteen years. Waelti assumed the lead when Schuck retired with mechanical problems the following lap.
Waelti led the remainder of the event driving the Harlan Kittleson owned Stealth/Ford Duratech No. 15. It marked the fifth different track where Waelti has won a Badger sanctioned feature during his career. Last week’s Angell Park winner Jeff Zelinski recorded his third runner-up finish of the season. Kurt Mayhew, Andy Baugh, and Mitchell Davis completed the top five.
Racing for Badger continues tonight Sunday August 28 at Angell Park Speedway (Sun Prairie, WI). Joining Badger will be the co-sanctioned IRA Bumper to Bumper Outlaw & MOWA Neal Tire & Auto Center Sprint Car Series event, and the Wisconsin Dirt Racing Legends.
