Badger Midgets Look to Plymouth, Angell Park Double Header
The Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Series heads into a double-header weekend with the points chase heating up as the midpoint of the 2022 season draws near.
Todd Kluever currently sits atop the standings, with a slim 34-point gap to the most recent BMARA Feature winner Kyle Stark. Stark is riding a huge wave of momentum after a dominating performance last Sunday at the Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway, where the 2021 Badger Midget Rookie of the Year earned a clean sweep of the night’s action. Don’t count out Zach Boden who sits in third place, as the perennial contender has been a frontrunner all season and were it not for mechanical woes in recent weeks might find himself right on the heels of Kluever and Stark.
Saturday night the series will venture back to the fantastic facility at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds for an action-packed night of racing, with the MSA 360 Sprints, B Modifieds, Late Models and Grand Nationals all set to do battle on the legendary 1/3-mile oval. Tickets will be available at the track with opening ceremonies set for 6PM. 3-Time BMARA champion Chase McDermand took victory last season in both of the series’ appearances at the Plymouth Dirt Track.
Sunday, we’ll return home to Angell Park Speedway for the now annual Salute to Brian Gapinski. The stars and cars of the Badger Midgets will be joined once again by the MSA 360 Winged Sprints and Wisconsin Dirt Legends to make this yet another must see event at the historic facility. Andy Baugh picked up a thrilling victory last season in the event, holding off Chase McDermand to do so. Tickets will be available on the Ticket Hoss app and at the track on race day. Opening ceremonies are set to get underway at 6PM with racing to follow.
