Badger Midget Auto Racing Association Hall Of Fame Inductions Set for July 12
The third annual Badger Midget Auto Racing Association Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is slated for Sunday, July 12, in conjunction with the AFS Badger Midget Series race at Angell Park Speedway that evening. The inductions will be held in the Angell Park Pavilion located at 315 Park Street, Sun Prairie, WI, on the grounds of Angell Park Speedway.
The Hall of Fame program begins with a luncheon at 11 a.m. (serving at 11:30 a.m.) and the ceremony to follow at 1 p.m. with an estimated ending time of 3 p.m.
Badger Midget Series fans, alumnus and current participants are encouraged to attend. Attendees will enjoy a program with in-person introductions of inductees or their descendants if available. There will be basket and 50/50 raffles available. A cash bar, thanks to Angell Park, will be open. Vintage pictures, memorabilia, the Hall of Fame trophy and BMARA championship trophy (courtesy of the Horstmeyer family) are all expected to be on display.
The cost for the luncheon and ceremony is $35 for the public and $25 for past and current drivers. Commemorative event programs will be available to those who purchase a luncheon ticket. Luncheon tickets must be purchased in advance (see below).
Those who only care to attend the ceremony are welcome to do so at a cost of $15 which can be paid in advance or at the door.
Both the luncheon ticket and the “ceremony only” ticket include general admission to the races that night. The inductions will take place rain or shine. Please note and understand, should the races get cancelled, there will be no refunds for these special induction ceremony admission tickets.
The evening’s race at Angell Park Speedway is the annual “Racers’ Reunion Night.” It promises to be an action-packed day with the Badger Midgets highlighting a card that also includes Milwaukee Area Stock Car Association Vintage Modifieds and Midwest Legends Dirt Series.
Inductees Harlin Kittleson, Randy Koch, Dave Shannon and Bob Walldan are all expected to be in attendance. The Badger Midget Hall of Fame is still searching for relatives of Carl Marchese and Ray Richards.
